Why Introverted Leaders Need Different Year-End Reflection
Dec 20, 2025
Last week, I found myself doing it again.
December shows up, and suddenly I'm making a mental list of everything I didn't accomplish this year. The business goals I missed. The networking events I avoided. All the "shoulds" I didn't do.
"By now, I should have a thriving business. More income. Complete control of my schedule."
I was drifting into that familiar place of regret. Maybe I gave up too soon. Maybe I should've made more calls, sent more emails, pushed harder.
Then I stopped myself and asked a different question:
What if I took time to recognize the leader I've become this year—instead of focusing on who I think I should be?
My whole perspective shifted.
When I actually reflected, here's what I found:
I launched a new business aligned with my values. I made my first public sales. I paused work that wasn't serving me this season—and I trusted that decision.
I listened deeply and helped others solve problems they'd been stuck on. I created safe spaces where people accomplished goals they didn't think were possible.
I strengthened relationships with family and friends. Set boundaries I'd never had the courage to set before. Chose health over hustle. Sought clarity before making decisions.
None of this was loud. None of this made headlines. But all of it was leadership.
Here's what I've learned: Introverted women need a different type of year-end reflection.
Not "What did I check off my list?"
But "Who have I become? What quiet growth am I not acknowledging? What leadership am I minimizing because it doesn't look like everyone else's?"
Quantitative data matters in business. But qualitative data—the relationships you've built, the confidence you've grown, the authentic decisions you've made—matters just as much.
So I'm doing something about it.

December 29-January 2, I'm hosting The Hidden Leader Year-End Challenge—a FREE 5-day reflection experience designed specifically for introverted women leaders.
Not to set more "shoulds" for 2026. But to recognize the leader you've already become in 2025.
5 minutes a day. Recognition-based. No pressure to be someone you're not.
Because you've grown more than you realize. You've led more than you acknowledge. You've influenced more than you think.
